GUYOIL hosted their Annual Bursary Award Ceremony on Wednesday, 21st August, 2019 at the Company’s Head Office Camp Street, Georgetown.

The award recognizes employees’ children who wrote the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) examination and employees’ children in forms one to four with outstanding performances. The children are awarded prizes, school supplies, and trophies. The event was attended by the children and their parents, Chairman and Directors of GUYOIL’s Board and Senior Staff of the entity.

There are twenty one new awardees and twenty-four continuing awardees for a total of fifty-five awardees in the programme.  National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) student Aquila Whyte, who gained a place at Queens College with five hundred and twenty-six marks has been selected as the best awardee for 2019.

The children were encouraged by Dr. Bria Mc Kenzie- Lewis former bursary awardee to keep working hard and to remain focused on their goals.

Mrs. Illisa Jones parent of two bursary awardees’ noted that the award encourages children to do well, she also noted that children love to be recognized and so it motivates them to push harder and it gives parent an ease and it is overall a good initiative.

The award is mainly geared at encouraging children to do their best and recognizing them when they excel. The Corporate Service Manager Shaundell Brotherson, stated, “The bursary award has been growing over the years and we receive feedback from parents about how appreciative they are that GUYOIL continues to uphold this practice of rewarding the performance of their children.”

GUYOIL has been consistent in its efforts to implement new initiates that would allow them to continue to give back to their employees and customers. GUYOIL strives to offer Excellence in Service at every level.
